Terms of Service - MCP Connector & API
These terms govern access to the TipRanks Model Context Protocol
("MCP") connector and the TipRanks MCP API hosted at
https://mcp.tipranks.com (together, the
"Service"). They supplement, and do not
replace, the
TipRanks Terms of Service
and
Privacy Policy,
which continue to apply to your TipRanks account. Where these terms and
the main Terms of Service conflict with respect to programmatic
or API access to TipRanks data, these terms control. The
Service is operated by TipRanks Ltd. (company no. 514785039).
By creating an API key, completing checkout for a paid tier, or authorizing the connector, you agree to these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.
1. What the Service is
The Service provides programmatic access to TipRanks financial data - including analyst ratings, price targets, Smart Score, portfolio analytics, and related content - through (a) an OAuth-based connector used interactively by an MCP client such as Claude, and (b) API keys used for direct, programmatic requests. For the avoidance of doubt, "Services" as used in the main Terms of Service includes this programmatic and API access.
2. Your license to use the data
Subject to your compliance with these terms and payment of any applicable fees, TipRanks grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access the Service and use the data it returns solely to build and operate your own applications and internal workflows, including for your own internal commercial purposes consistent with the tier you have purchased. All other rights are reserved.
3. What you may not do
You may not, and may not permit any third party to:
- Redistribute, resell, republish, sublicense, or otherwise make available the data - in raw, substantially raw, or systematically reconstructed form - to any third party, or as a public feed, dataset, or API;
- Store or accumulate the data to build a standalone or competing database, archive, or product, beyond transient operational caching needed to run your own application;
- Use the data to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any machine-learning or AI model, or to create any dataset or product that competes with TipRanks;
- Exceed, circumvent, or interfere with the rate limits, quotas, or access controls applicable to your tier, including by using multiple keys or accounts to aggregate quota;
- Reverse engineer, scrape around, or attempt to derive the Service's non-public sources, methods, or scoring beyond the documented API; or
- Use the Service in any way that breaches the main TipRanks Terms of Service.
4. Attribution
Where the data is surfaced to end users of your application, you will attribute it to TipRanks (e.g. "Data by TipRanks") and will not remove or obscure any source or copyright notices. You may not imply TipRanks endorses your application without our prior written consent.
5. Ownership
The data and all intellectual property rights in the Service and the data remain the exclusive property of TipRanks and its licensors. Commodities, forex, and crypto data is sourced from Financial Modeling Prep and subject to its terms. These terms grant you no ownership in the data or the Service.
6. Tiers, fees, and fair use
Available tiers, their rate limits, and monthly quotas are published in the documentation and may change. Paid tiers are billed through Stripe; fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We may apply reasonable technical measures to enforce limits and protect Service availability.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access - and revoke API keys or OAuth grants - immediately if you breach these terms, exceed or abuse quotas, or use the Service in a way that risks harm to TipRanks, its data providers, or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting your key or revoking the connector.
8. No investment advice
The data is provided for informational purposes only and is not investment, financial, legal, or tax advice. You are solely responsible for any decisions made using it.
9. Disclaimers, liability, and indemnification
The Service and data are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The limitation-of-liability and indemnification provisions of the main TipRanks Terms of Service apply to your use of the Service and are incorporated here by reference.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected on this page, and the OAuth metadata endpoint advertises this URL so MCP clients can surface the current version. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
